The independent variable (i.e. entirely individual performance) here, or at least the variables by the addition of less skilled players, steals and saves, looks relatively sensible.

I assume this was a response to me. What did you mean by "add any to the player pool?" If I start the league with 36 teams, wouldn't the engine create a proportionally higher number of major leaguers?
Regardless, what I was suggesting was that perhaps simply because there were more players, I got more at the extremes.
