Custom Teams

If you want to play with the full version of OOTP and make custom teams using the rookie draft and other features you might consider the following:

1) Make a back-up copy of the Legends League first and put in a safe place. You should backup on a CD or, after backing up, simply rename the League Name in the OOTP5 folder to something like Gold Coast2.lg or Classics.lg (You can always
restore the league name back to its original name later.

2) Make your custom league and teams using the original or backup copy of the Gold Coast.lg file.

3) Make your custom league and teams.

4) Delete all the other "duplicate" players from the FA pool.

5) Change the mode of play from "replay" to "career" in the League setup menu.

6) Import files into OOTP6 when its available. I heard that the new version will convert the OOTP5 over.

I realize this may be alot of work to you - 6 hrs here and there - but it pails in comparison to the 100's if not 1000's of hours I spent in putting the database together. I made this investment in time simply because I didn't want to be distracted by constantly musing over "what if" this player or "that player" was in the lineup instead. I've been playing simulation baseball for decades - ever since I was in middle school and, I know, we eventually tire of playing with only medicore players. With the Legends League, every game is a mini "All-Star" game.

Thanks for your thoughts and be sure to share with me any exciting leagues you create or play using the Legends League.
