A few 60's Journeyman HW's
Archie Ray - USA
1962-1967
20 wins / 13 losses / 2 draws / 12 KO
Hometown: Tucson, AZ
Rating by: Rocco Del Sesto
Archie built a 20-4-2 record against the usual array of unmentionables. His only fights against anyone in the game or added to are Tony Doyle and Elmer Rusch. Both of those fights Ray lost by KO. He fought and defeated in successive fights a light heavyweight by the name of Bobby Rascon who piled up a 40-33-1 career record. Once Ray started fighting some upper echelon fighters, his career dropped off the face of the earth.
From May 1966 to December 1967 he lost his last 9 straight fights to Manuel Ramos, Boone Kirkman, Kirkman, Dave Zyglewicz, Amos Lincoln, Florida Al Jones, George Chuvalo, LHW-Tony Montano(49-32-3) which was for the Arizona State HW Title, and finally to Boone Kirkman again to end his career. After 8 round decision losses to Ramos and the first 2 Kirkman fights, Ray was stopped in 5 of the last 6 fights.
What I ended up doing with Ray's ratings is the last 9 fights I played against these guys in the game except Montano who is not. The ratings I got set will average around 2-7 with 4 KO's against theses guys while then if you sim the other 26 bouts of the first part of his career against 1 rated fighters, he'll average around 12-14 wins and 9-11 losses, 9 KO's with him stopped an average of 6 to 7 times.
