Error Message: Data Provider or other service returned an E_FAIL status

What Screen: On getting histories while importing

Description: I am in year 2013 I believe and received that error message while importing. It comes as histories are being imported. My league file is 1.3 megs, so I don't think it will send, but I could e-mail if it does not.

Thanks for any help!
Have you by any chance edited player histories in the past?

This is not the solution, but a useful work around that others in this forum have used for the E_FAIL error in player histories:
Turn player history off in Catobase (OOTP History).

Honestly, I think it looks cluttered anyway in OOTP History for veteran players and if you have edited your ootp player histories in the past you can get carriage return errors very easily if the OOTP formatting has not been duplicated exactly.

Also: Three other suggestions in a similar E_FAIL status error message posts in this forum, not sure if they are any help:
1. Make sure you installed OOTP history v4 so you get the MDAC installation. E_FAIL status errors are often attributed to older MDAC versions, though I'm not sure that is why they show up in OOTP History.
2. Make sure you use the CommishJoe CSV Exporter from the OOTP History site, not the most current BOSI version (that does not sound like your problem).
3. It's possible that older leagues (pre-OOTP5) where the player history files were not carefully maintained will cause problems when OOTP History tries to import these files. One symptom of poor maintenance is when a rookie player inherits a veteran players history notes.
