This league is worth a look for anyone serious about competing. There are three things that set the NOBL apart from most (but not all) other leagues- consistency, maturity, and competitiveness.
The NOBL has been around since 1995. What was once a FPS Pro league is now using OOTP5. We've seen many owners over those 9 years, but the NOBL has remained. This is not a league you will invest your time into only to see it fold in two months.
The NOBL is not a high school crowd, although we have had a few younguns in our history. Older owners aren't necessarily better... but it is nice to have an intelligent conversation about the league or baseball with someone that doesn't rely on "sucks" and "rocks" as 30% of their vocabulary.
Finally, we've worked creatively to ensure a financially level playing field. We do not have a salary cap, but things are in place to where an indirect cap of around $95-100 million is in place. Taken together with our $30 million revenue sharing level, it allows any team to mount a run at the playoffs for a few seasons. You can get to the playoffs by spending money, but you can't stay there for long.
Everyone has a shot at the free agents, and we constantly look for ways to increase the talent level in the free agent pool without overloading the league with superstars. The best way to build your team is through the draft and via trades, and player movement has been one of the hallmarks of the league since its inception. If it isn't nailed down, you can trade it. We do not have a trade board, rather we rely on public pressure and communication to ensure that trades are not rip offs.
Take a look at the teams. All are within a season of being in the playoffs, and there is a wide range of veterans and prospects. This is the opportunity you've been looking for.
