Dickey Rocked in first start of season

Texas played its first home game of the year and it was not pretty at all for R.A. Dickey as he allowed 5 ER in 3 innings. Texas actually started out the game well taking a 1-0 lead after 1 on a Rbi single from Mark Teixeira. But in the bottom of the 2nd thing went bad as Anaheim scored 4 runs on 4 hits. Salmon Glaus Erstad and Eckstein each had an Rbi that inning. And from there they never looked back as Anaheim won the game 14-5. Jeff Davanon had a solo shot, Garrett Anderson had a 2 run blast and Jose Guillen had a solo shot for Anaheim. Anaheim hit only them 3 homeruns this game.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Jeff Davanon 3-3 3 Rbi's

Ryan Drese pitches 8 strong to give texas the win
Ryan Drese was the star of this game allowing 2 runs neither of them allowed and both scored in the first after an error by Rusty Greer. Anaheim took a 2-0 lead after 1 inning of play. Texas got their first run in the bottom of the 4th on a Laynce Nix single making it 2-1 Anaheim after 4. Texas would tie the game in the bottom of the 6th with Laynce Nix's second Rbi of the game scoring Hank Blalock. In the 7th with runners on the corner up came Hank Blalock and hammered a single up the middle scoring Einar Diaz to give Texas a 3-2 lead. And from there Ryan Drese shut them down throiugh 8 and Francisco Cordero pitched a one hit 9th to get the save his 2nd on the season.

Rogers and Lewis rocked in Texas loss
Once again the pitching failed the Texas Rangers in a 12-2 loss tonite. The game was squared away at 1 until the Top of the 5th when Rogers decided not to try anymore and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits and the Angels took a 3-1 lead. Texas had a 4-1 lead heading into the Top 7th when once again Rogers allowed 2 more runs when Tim Salmon hit a single into left Scoring 2 runs Salmon was thrown out at 2nd. Colby Lewis came in in the 8th and allowed 6 more runs in the 8th making it 12-1 heading into the btm of the 8th. And it remained that way until the bottom of the 9th when Blalock doubled in Michael young to make the score 12-2. And that as the final score.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Hank Blalock 5-5 1 RBI
Wp-Bartolo Colon (1-0)
Lp-Kenny Rogers (0-1)

Great Game in Texas ends with another Texas loss
What a great game it was tonite as the Rangers lost their 2nd straight(NO THATS NOT THE GOOD PART). The game was very competitve all the way through. The first runs of the game were scored in the top of the 4th on a 2 run homerun by Garett Anderson. So Anaheim took a 2-0 lead going into the btm of the 4th were they answered with 2 runs of their own. A 2-run blast by Mark Teixeira tied the game at 2. The game stayed dead locked at 2 heading into the bottom of the 7th when PH Garald Laird had a scarifice fly scoring Eric Young. Texas took a 3-2 lead goin into the 8th. Erstad scored a sac fly and a throwing error by the rightfield to tie the game at 3 after 8. In the top of the 9th Cordero came into pitch and Garrett Anderson scored on a single by Chone Figgins and Anaheim took a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the 9th.
