The Texas Rangers will start the season with a 3 game series in Oakland.
Late inning Heroics propel Rangers over A's
Well Texas starts of the season with a great comeback win over the A's. This game was fairly close all the way through with with Oakland scoring the first run of the game and taking a 3-1 lead heading to the ninth. In the 9th Texas went off scoring 4 runs and loading the bases twice. Young and Blalock started off the 9th with infield hits. Teixeira was up next and walked to load the bases. Jordan came up grounded into a fielders choice with a run scoring and Texeira out at 2nd. Oakland tied the game on a Single by Kevin Mench and took the lead on a Fullmer sac fly and from there they never looked back and won the game 5-3.

Texas doesn't need heroics to beat A's this game
Once again Oakalnd started off the game scoring the first run on a Solo homerun by Mark Kotsay his first of the year. The game stayed at 1-0 until the Top 5th when Alfonso Soriano singled in Rusty Greer to make it 1-1. Entering the Top of the 7th still tied at 1-1 Texas took a 2-1 lead on a double by Alfonso Soriano scoring Eric Young. After 7 it was 2-1 Texas. Texas added 3 more runs in the 8th on 2 Eric Young Rbi's and a Ramon Nivar Rbi. And that was the finally score as Texas took the game 5-1.

Texas loses in extra innings
Oakland once again started off the game scoring first in the bottom of the second on a 2 run homerun by Jermaine making it 2-0 after 2. Oakland once again scored in the bottom of the 4th on a 2 run home run by Bobby Crosby. Well Oakland just kept increasing the lead in this one in the bottom of the 5th back to back homers by Chavez and Durazo put Oakland up 6-0 after 5. Texas would then score 2 in the top of the 6th on an Rbi by Alfonso Soraino and an Rbi by Michael Young. The score would stay at 6-2 until the top of the 8th when yet again Texas went off. Mark Texeira had and Rbi single and Laynce nix had a a 3 run shot that landed 419 feet from home plate to tie the game at 6-6. The score would stay this way and enter extra innings where in the top of the 10th Texas stranded Hank Blalock on second and scored no runs. Francisco Cordero came into pitched the bottom of the 10th striking out the first guy. Kielty then came up and doubled down the left field line. Cordero then walked C Damian Miller on 6 pitches. Byrnes came up with 1 out and singled in the game winning run to win it for Oakland. Oakland won the game 7-6 in 10 innings.
