Seeing Henry's Population database in the General Forum made me realize some might be interested in this file:

There was a thread a while back (I can't seem to find it) regarding the generic player origins and an alternative to players being from USA, CANADA, JAPAN, etc.

I took the formula that kq76 created and applied it to cities in the US and other countries in the game. The file will randomly generate a city/state based on population figures.

By using the Player General Info CSV export in the game you can replace the Origins fairly quickly.

(make a backup of your entire league folder the first few times you try this)
1 Export the Player general info (from the Advanced League Setup)
2 Sort the entire selection by the 'origin' field
3 Paste the values from the OOTP Origin Maker over the existing USA etc
4 Format the 'height' field to M-D; for some reason Excel imports this field as a date
5 Save the file as CSV and Import the Player General Info via the League Setup in OOTP


I had to reduce the file in order for it to post it on the board. The full file also has cities for Cuba, Venezuela, United Kingdom and Australia. If there is interest, perhaps one of the download site will host the entire file.
