I'm gonna use Robbie Alomar for this example. Now Alomar in 2002 for me, was a dynamic singles/doubles hitter, hardly ever K's and plays great defense, the one "lacking" part in his game was that he hit under 20 HR. So I lowered the Batting avg to a 2, lowered the K's to a 2, lowered the defense to a 2, and put all the rest on HR. Did I just ruin this guy by accident? Should I have left the higher point values on the things he does well? I know it's supposed to "train" guys new things. But by taking points away from his "strong" points did those just become "weak"? Thru 30 games, the guy is hitting .330, so the Avg is still there, but he has struck out ALOT more than last year, he made 6 errors all last year, he has 3 already thru 30 games, and he's 4th in the NL in HR with 9 thru 30. So did I just change Alomar's entire style of playing the game? Or is it just a fluke/not that big of a thing, where you put the points in spring training. Thanks</strong><hr></blockquote>
You should be able to tell what happened by any changes in his ratings/talents that resulted from spring training.
