I`m sure you alreagy checked that you named your files correctly?
What did you do with the other name-files like lanames.dat? I would recommend to save your names.dat file also under lanames.dat, maybe theres the problem.

What I ended up doing is having them be the same file. If I had known there were 3 files, I would have planned ahead and done Old Norse, older Swedish and Finnish name files.
I had too many spaces in some of them at the beginning but I think I've gotten rid of the extra ones. All the original name files had # in them so I don't think that's the problem.
Tell you what, could you email me your Finnish files? My email is njreynolds at wisc dot edu Maybe I'll notice something in them that will help me. It's a long shot but I'm stumped right now.
