Unfortunately, if you are under contract you cannot decide to retire. You'll have to wait until the contract is up, or like Stashu says, wait until you are released.

If you hang on until the contract is up, you'll have to sim to the next season making sure you do not sign with anyone during the FA period. When opening day rolls around you can decide to retire.
