I haven't been there in awhile and I am only 80 miles away...BUT I remember a great brewery in Cooperstown...top notch, IIRC you can take a tour and get some free brew.

For your wife, there are a plethora of Antique stores that have great stuff in the towns preceeding Cooperstown, so if she has a liking for certain things (dolphins, bears..etc.) you could probably get something nice for her on the way back..brownie points ya know

As for staying, get a bed and breakfast place, not a Motel Six, not much more expensive but 10x better

Yes you can see everything in 2 days
