I still have the box and disks (somewhere) for Pure Stat! When it came out I thought it was the greatest thing in the world. I started up my fictional Continental League on Pure Stat for the C64 in 1988, and the same league (with some of the same players I invented back then, now in their late 30s and 40s) is running on OOTP4. I transitioned to Earl Weaver I and II after that first season, but still, Pure Stat was my first baseball sim.
The only real problems I remember were that only 3 stadiums came with the game, and it cost too much to buy the stadium disk, and the game didn't track stolen bases. So looking back at my CBL database, all the oldtimers have blanks in their stolen base records for 1988.
