I had never heard of OOTP until I got my daily Gamespot Daily PC Games News e-mail message just a week ago. They raved about OOTP. I have played Stat-o-Matic since I was a kid (I got my first card set in 1963! when I was 9!). I have played SOM's computer version but decided to give OOTP a try. I'm glad I did! After playing about 1/8 of the 1962 season, it beats SOM. I also like the ability to download the years I want (saves money and I don't need all those disks). I have also tried HighHeat 2002 (and other sports games like NHL 2000 and FIFA 1999) but for a 48 (soon to be 49)year old, they are too hard (carpal tunnel syndrome is only around the corner for me) and I can't beat my 15 year old nephew. I think I'll stick to text based games and OOTP especially.

A little off the subject: has anyone played the Championship Manager Soccer game? I've heard good things (and besides maybe I can beat my soccer playing nephew at that game!).
