Washington went just 12-13 in July, slipping back to the pack. The White Sox went 15-11, while Cleveland went 16-9. The Indians moved into 2nd place and are just 3 games back.

Cincinnati went 12-14 this month but managed to stay ahead of the rest of the league thanks to a large 8.5 game cushion they gave themselves in June. The Giants went 16-10 and pulled to within 5 games of the Reds. The Cardinals are 6 games back, while the Cubs, who lost starter Hugh Tiedt for 6 weeks, are 8 games out.
