Taking the base happens happens nearly EVERY time with 2 outs..
With less than 2 outs, it's a players MISTAKE that they take second base. Coach's are against it and will tell the runner that they made a mistake, whether or not they get there in time.
It take a good runner to get to 2nd base under two outs. You have to be rounding first and watching the throw home. You have to observe the throw, then make a split second decision (Is the throw too high? Is it too low?)
I'm sure there is something on this somewhere. Coaches don't tell there players to go for second everytime(which pretty much happens whenever there is a play at the plate in OOTP/ITP) whenever there is a throw home with under 2 outs.
I'm not trying to create an argument with you Steve. I'm just giving my thoughts. And if I'm wrong, I want to see it, so I guess I'm trying to create a little mini argument. But like I said in my first post, it's not that big of a deal.
