I Am the Game has a great point.
Players *do* change over the course of their career. And though the aging part of that seems to already be built in, the character part of it does not (I don't think).
Personally, I'd leave my intelligence alone (I think intelligence begets smarts, therefore you'll eventually learn more in your time in the league, based on your intelligence).
But man, I'm so about the character thing. There are guys like Barry Bonds and Cal Ripken, who don't really seem change their attitude or disposition as their career goes on, and then there are guys like Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, etc. who *seem* to learn, adapt and change their attitudes (as long as they aren't threatened - see Ryan vs. Ventura and Clemens vs. Piazza) and usually for the better.
