i think "gap" means more about hardliners than it means about loopers over the second baseman.

and if u have power meaning u will lift the ball more often into the outfield, and deep outfield.. the combo of the two will create more doubles, and at your speed triples.

contact just means making contact..

i'd imagine it goes something like this..

the computer first looks at the CONTACT rating..
tells it whether u hit or miss...

Than the Power rating, and looks at the range of the rating.. and compares it to where the ball should drop, like a lottery percentage wise... it will more often be a ball into the outfield and deeper into the outfield than someone will less power rating..

than it compares it to the dimensions of the stadium.. takes the random number and checks whether in that particular stadium its a HOME RUN..

if its not.. than it uses the GAP skill level.. the higher the gap level is, the better the chance that the ball drops into a hard to reach spot at whatever the random number length the ball was hit at...

than it looks at the defender covering and his range, and whether he can field it or not..


other aspects ofcourse, like being hot or cold or whatever blah blah blah
