Great question. Since you are exporting the files to CSV, it can only access those files and not the game itself. Also, since the files being exported are an export, the game no longer uses them. Essentially, it’s a completely disconnected situation that has zero chance of impacting the game. Any time you want fresh data, you have to do the export. For me, I do an export every couple of weeks or once a month in the game.
