What had been a four-run Frankford lead was now a score that was six Runs in Pt. Richmond’s favor. While there was some clutch hitting done by the Pt. Richmond batsmen, those ten Runs scored thanks in no small part due to a comedy of Errors by the Frankford fielders. Perhaps still in shock, Frankford went down 1-2-3 in T9, and the hosts had earned an unlikely 16-10 victory.

Almost lost among the excitement of the game-winning rally was the fact that Pt. Richmond 2B Haywood Saban had an outstanding afternoon at Palmer Field.

The result left both Pt. Richmond & Frankford with 11-7 records. The two are part of a three-way tie atop East Philadelphia, with Queen Village also 11-6. Shockingly, defending West & P.C.L. champions Minerva, who were 54-16 last season, are currently in last place at 4-13.
