The Mets had a strong month of April, going 19-8. Other highlights of the month include-
- Clay Holmes was named Pitcher of the Month, going 5-0 with a 1.93 ERA. Nathan Eovaldi may have been robbed, as he went 4-0 with a 1.78 ERA.
- Bo Bichette currently leads the league in hitting at .402.
- On the ugly side, Kodai Senga somehow won 2 games despite having a 10.48 ERA for the month in 22.1 IP. Dedniel Nunez is our bullpen equivalent of that with an 11.74 ERA in 7.2 IP for April. Seems like moves should be made, but for now I have to keep using them.
- Injury-wise, Devin Williams has about 4 weeks and then however long he needs to rehab before he will be back.. Kevin Kelly has about 2 weeks...not sure if a rehab will be needed for him.
- No major transactions happened this month other than the aforementioned promotion of Nolan McLean. He's gone 1-1 with a 3.50 ERA since coming up. We've had a few guys up and down in the bullpen....Tobias Myers, Jonah Tong and Evan Sisk have all seen time. Right now that spot belongs to Christian Scott. Personally, I'd like it to be Sisk for now as we need that 2nd lefty. Once Kelly and Devin are back, I'd still like the lefty but we will be a much deeper pen for sure.
