It's a Mike Simms World
Starting the month of August 1970 in my random debut league. Mike Simms, a dude that never had 200 official at bats during a Major League season is running away the home run race with 34 home runs. He's at least 10 home runs ahead of his closest competitor. Simms is also the RBI leader in the NL Back in 1998 Simms hit 16 home runs over the course of 215 plate appearances. Just so happens that's the season the OOTP gods decided to bring him into my league. 3 year double weighted recalc combined with the OOTP Development Engine. I expect recalc to crush Simms rather quickly, but I'm loving this season in the sun for such a little known player.
Can't wait to see just how many home runs Simms ends up hitting. Can he reach 50? His team the Chicago Cubs are still in the thick of things, but trail both the Cardinals and Mets in the NL East.
