Hi Lukas, really appreciate the reply. Wanted to give this some thorough testing before I responded. I gave it a test on all options just to be safe, and unfortunately the lag did start to appear.

However, I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence or not, but having any setting other than 'no limitation' seemed to delay the onset of the lag. After roughly 1 month of in game time (approx 1 hour for me real time) is usually the point I will notice the lag, but with this testing it was about 2 months of in game time (approx 2 hours real time).

Again not sure if this is helpful information, or just happenstance. But again I do appreciate you looking into this!

PS in regards to HerbD's post, I can confirm the all-star and awards screen when manually selecting is another that the lag seems to appear on for me also.
