Ahh, got it. That makes sense.
It looks like this was specific to historical games where IRL pitchers were importing with some pitch ratings mixed up. In that case, I think youd need to start a new save, since youre essentially changing the underlying build of an already-generated player, which ends up being locally saved data. I dont think any patch or game update can retroactively alter locally saved files which would be pretty standard for most PC or console games.
Anything related to the game engine itself like batted-ball distribution, 1B putout adjustments, or tweaks to generated draft classes should be fine to continue with an existing save. The only real exception I can think of would be if a draft class was already generated.
