Sorry to revive this thread after 5 1/2 years, but I've hit upon another source for vintage ads. If you have a newspapers.com subscription, you can go through various newspapers of whichever era you want to find ads that will work. When you find one you like, clip it using the newspapers.com clipping function, or use the Windows snipping tool. Then paste the ad into Google Flow, and give it the simple prompt "colorize". Here's an example of how it looks.
