Smoky Joe Wood will be the replacement for Ruth. Wood was dominant before his arm injury including a 34 win season. With Young, Clemens, Lester, and Wood the Red Sox will be fine.
I agree about the depth of the Yankees, but we cant breakup the core of their best players. As for Maris, he is a strong possibility to make the Cardinals outfield.
