The St. Louis Cardinals have placed outfielder Eddy Cortes on the 10-day injured list after he suffered a forearm injury while making a throw during a 5-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves on April 3.
Acquired in a trade with Miami in the off-season, the 25-year-old Cortes had hit .188 with one RBI in his first five games of the season.
He year ago, with the Marlins he played in 143 games/139 starts during which he hit .267 with 10 home runs and 57 RBIs.
Outfielder Jake Moore has been called up from AAA Memphis.
Moore, 26, spent part of last season in St. Louis playing in 82 games/74 starts during which he hit .242 with eight homers and 26 RBIs.
In three games/two starts with Memphis this season, Moore is hitting .111 with an RBI.
