Mid-Month Snapshot

Here is a snapshot of the Leagues, two weeks into the month of February:

• The Eastern League has dominated the West thus far in the second round of interleague games. Through the first 104 combined games played in February, the East has won 68 of them. No Western League team has a winning record; the Pulberry Trolleys come closest at 6-7.

• The Stratford Barons started the month 12-1 to reach .500.

• The Braeland City Monarchs took their 7-game winning streak into February and extended it to 14 straight wins before falling to the Cambria Cannons, 6-0. That has propelled them into a tie for first place with the Wellington Athletics.

• Both the Cobourg Redlegs and Downie Chiefs have gone 10-3 thus far in February to get above .500 and draw closer in the wildcard race. While the Redlegs started the month with a 7-game winning stretch, the Chiefs boasted an 8-game winning streak themselves.

• The first half of February saw a player hit for the cycle for the 35th time in ULB history.
