I also get this issue.
One thing I would say is that the screen behind is active and I can click on the black page in the correct place to load my last save.
I can also, in windowed mode, click to close the window which will make a pop up appear and illuminated the background showing where all the buttons are.
It's dreadful but allows me to get passed the homepage and onto the actual game.
