Hey guys, long-time lurker on these forums and even longer-time player of OOTP. I am loving a lot of the new changes in this release and especially love that the UI feels a lot more modern than past iterations. I haven't had the opportunity to play out many seasons in-game yet, but I've been digging around throughout this afternoon and have some things that I want to bring to the team's attention. I really hope this doesn't come across as nitpicky, I am bringing these up because I really love this game and I think fixing these issues would make it even better!
AI lineup construction is completely immersion-breaking in it's current state. Using a brand new standard game save in 2026 with scouting turned off, I've observed the following (and plenty more oddities in addition):
- TB: 40-grade Taylor Walls batting third while 60-grade Junior Caminero is batting 6th.
- PHI: 65-grades Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are batting in the 5/6 slots.
- AZ: 65-grade Ketel Marte is batting 6th with three 45-grade players batting 3-5.
- LAD: 60-grade Mookie Betts and 65-grade Freddie Freeman batting 5-6 while Keston Hiura bats 2nd.
- NYM: 65-grade Francisco Lindor and 60-grade Bo Bichette are batting 6/7.
EDIT: Looks like the lineups fix themselves after simming a few days, no longer a big issue, just weird.
Contact/BABIP/Avoid Ks are all misaligned on batter profile pages. BABIP is currently shown as a sub-rating of Avoid Ks and Avoid Ks isn't currently shown as a sub-rating of Contact.
The Facegens on the player pages are misaligned, making a gap between where the facegen gets cut off and where the menu bar begins, which looks weird.
The option to hide the Icon Bar appears to have been removed or I just cannot find it anymore.
When a player has a potential rating for a specific position, it shifts the ratings bar over to the side which can distort how you perceive the rating. For example, if two positions have 55-ratings (one 55-overall, one 55-potential), visually it looks like the player will be better at the potential position even though they are both 55 ratings.
The smiley face icon for morale on the player page is right-aligned and looks off compared to the rest of the section.
Having the individual pitch ratings under the Stuff/Movement/Control ratings looks good, but I think it would make more sense to have them all on top of each other instead of spread out over two columns to improve readability and make comparisons easier. For example, moving all the pitchjing ratings to the lefthand side and moving all of the info stuff (FB/GB, velo, etc) to the righthand side would look much cleaner. Similarly, moving the speed/stealing/baserunning ratings to the left side for hitters, with the other info on the right would look much cleaner.
The overall and potential ratings on the player profile are misaligned with the overall scouting and development risk. This is just cosmetic, but something I can't help but notice regardless.
Player personalities appear in different places for hitters and pitchers which is confusing. Having them in one place would be much easier to read.
I have clicked the "Screen Tutorials" button instead of the "Manager's Office" button SOOOOO many times this afternoon, it's driving me crazy. Maybe an option to turn that icon off would be nice? Or maybe I just need to get used to it being there haha.
I hope this is constructive and just wanted to thank the OOTP team for creating such a great product!
