If you look in the save directory for the game, do any of the .dat files show as "0kb" for filesize? That would indicate corrupt data in a specific one potentially.

Just trying to establish if there is any consistency at all to the behaviour.

Just out of interest - where did you set the custom data path? I only ask because I'd had another user set it to the same directory that the game installs to on Steam and I figure it's worth mentioning that's not a good idea in general.

You mention that it could be an issue with how the game installed, you said you'd reinstalled a couple of times right? So that should take care of any issues with that - only other thing you could try is verifying the integrity of the game files via Steam, that basically checks for any issues with the install files and re-downloads them. That won't help a specific save file though.

Maybe Sebastian will get an idea from the save you uploaded, though if you wanted to upload this other one you've created to GoogleDrive I could try and load it/give it a run on my machine, that's not a priority though.
It basically resets any settings I changed in the main menu, so the window size, the skin, facegen settings, etc. It also greys out the continue game option forcing me to load a save, which is when I start experiencing the crashes. It doesn't happen at any specific point in the save, it's always after I shut down my computer and go back to it later. Sometimes I'm able to play in two or three different sessions over a couple days span, but usually no more than that before these issues come back. I just checked and none of the dat. files have 0kb as the file size.

For the custom data path, I just made a new folder called FHM 12 in (This PC > Windows-SSD (C). I also verified the files integrity on Steam and there didn't seem to be any issues there.
