Some teams previous year salary gets retained as current expense

Going crazy with this bug...don't know who even looks here anymore...but...

In testing the finances for a new league, I've noticed a weird bug I can't find the cause of. Basically, every season, 2-3 teams in a 10-team league won't have their current-year payroll expense reset to 0. Instead, it'll retain whatever the final payroll expense was from the previous year, then start adding the current year (as expected). Functionally, these teams have their payroll expenses doubled.

See below - it's Opening Day 1902 and this team's YTD expenses are the same as 1901. If you take that total and add the (accurate) Player Payroll figure, you get the projected figure - but that's 1901 and 1902 combined!!! Most teams display either "0" (or nearly zero) in YTD player payroll as expected. This recurs year over year, but with different teams, always 2 a season.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I know I could clear the YTD figure in the editor but I'm hoping for a fix I don't have to babysit.
