MLB news: Sept. 27 -- Indians reach postseason for first time since 2026
With a 6-1 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Cleveland Indians have assured themselves a trip to the postseason for the first time since 2026.
With an 85-71 record, the Indians sit in third place in the American League Central Division, trailing the first-place Tigers by 14 games with just six left in the regular season.
The Minnesota Twins also are in front of the Indians, meaning they will be no better than the No. 2 AL wild card.
Cleveland last reached the postseason in 2026, when it defeated the Atlanta Braves in the World Series.
