Acuña Jr. Captures 2024 NL MVP Award
Atlanta, GA — Ronald Acuña Jr. has seen plenty of hot streaks during his Major League Baseball career. In 2024, he put together one that never seemed to cool off. For his electrifying, season-long excellence, the Atlanta Braves right fielder was named the National League’s Most Valuable Player. This is Acuna's 2nd career MVP award.
Acuña delivered across the board, finishing the season with a .305 batting average while piling up 38 doubles, 4 triples, 38 home runs, and 114 RBI for a slashline of .305/.395/.580 that generated 8.0 WAR. Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts (.297/.376.520; 8.4 WAR) finished second in the MVP voting after another standout campaign, while Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (.313/.353/.568; 6.3 WAR) placed third.
