The Iron Pigs and Roadrunners announced a trade that was completed today. Chicago sent 28-year-old OF Mike White and minor OF Steve Clark and their 2012 4th round draft choice to Phoenix for 25-year-old OF Ricky Gutierrez and the Roadrunners 2012 3rd round draft choice.
White was hitting .234 with 8 HR's and 35 RBI's this year, while Gutierrez was stuck in a logjam of outfielders in the Phoenix organization. He was signed as an international free agent in 2002 out of the Dominican Republic.

BACKROOM CHATTER
I have no real franchise players and I didn't just trade for one. However Gutierrez is 3 years younger, apparently a true clubhouse presence and leader and as near as 2007 was the 86th ranked prospect in the game. Xavier Wynn is off the DL today and will be recalled but there are a few potential deals being discussed to open up an OF slot for Gutierrez. If a trade is made to open an OF spot he will be recalled.
