Catcher jonathan miller asks for a meeting

After a 5-1 loss to the Miners on Tuesday backup catcher and 7 year veteran Jon Miller knocked on the door.....
“It feels like you don't want me to be a part of the starting lineup. I am not really a role player. Never have been. If you give me the at-bats I'll prove that”.
That was how the meeting started off. I knew what was coming because his agent called about an hour before.
The guy has never started more than 72 games in his 7+ year career and he's sitting on a career OPS of .618 with an OBP of .286. I was clear when I signed him to the 2 year deal he was here to mentor and back up Brian Stachowski\. Who by the way is hitting .333-2-8 and quite honestly may be one of the very few players on this roster that could still be here when we get good. No, there is no everyday role for Jonathan here and I hated to say it but I had to. I've told the players “You'll never play for someone that cares more about you than I do, but do NOT ask me a question you don't want a truthful answer to because I won't lie to you.”
The bigger issue is Millers presence in the clubhouse is huge, his teammates love him. If this doesn't become a thing we're fine. If it does?
Another issue is he's one of two left-handed bats on the entire 27 man roster.
