The Cleveland Gladiators have set an IBL record as they have started the season 14-0.
SJ LF Andrew Jacobi went 5-5 in a 12-7 win over Portland. He's hitting .519 in 52 AB's.
2 time gold glove winner and 2006 world champion Catcher Steve Wald announced he will retire at years end.
Got my scouts running to hell and back as they prepare for the organizations most important day of the year. Looks to be a loaded class with a few bats that are potentially so good I may not be able to pass.
Utah SP Francisco Alvarez (12-10 2.76 last year) has a rotator cuff injury and the 36 year old told the media his season is over.
23 year old SP Jeff Yike (CHA) also suffered a season ending arm injury, tearing his flexor tendon. The youngster was 11-5 2.74 and 23-17 the last two years.
Things happen in threes. Detroit starter Rob Kilmer (12-11 3.38 last year) has a torn meniscus and will be sidelined for what looks to be at least 6 months. The 40 year old 2004 Koufax winner and 7 time gold-glover was non-committal to a question about this being his final year.

Quaranta the youngest ever
Boston's super prospect Matt Quaranta became the youngest player in IBL history to throw a no-hitter. The 20 year old 2008 1st round draft pick fanned 10. A second inning HBP was the only thing keeping the right hander from a perfect game. Atlanta beat Indianapolis 5-0. Quaranta made the jump last year going 9-1 1.89 in 14 starts.
