ROSTER MOVES THIS WEEK
On Wednesday we signed 39 year old LHP Chris Lapierre to a split contract and then placed him on the 40 man, he was recalled and RH Luis Artino is sent to AAA New Orleans with Lapierre taking that spot in the pen.
Also on Wednesday two waiver claims went through.
27 year old LHP Chris Schier was claimed from Philadelphia and 33 year old LHP Adam Bick was claimed from Staten Island. Bick was called up and our top pitching prospect Brian Pennington was sent to New Orleans where he will start instead of piecemeal innings up here. Schier was sent to AAA as well. Bick is the definition of a LH specialist while LaPierre will be a left hander used across all situations.
