Stratton Earns International League Reliever of the Year
At 34 years old,
Chris Stratton has added a remarkable new line to his résumé, being named the
2024 International League Reliever of the Year. The
Lehigh Valley IronPigs veteran called the honor a “milestone achievement,” noting, “I feel accomplished to win this when there are other younger, stronger, harder-throwing guys out there.”
The Tupelo, Mississippi native delivered one of the league’s steadiest seasons out of the bullpen.
Stratton notched 34 saves across 53 relief appearances, working 60.1 innings with 58 strikeouts against just 7 walks. He posted a 4–8 record with a 2.69 ERA, anchoring
Lehigh Valley’s late-inning plans from Opening Day through September. Voters recognized his dominance, awarding him all 20 first-place votes for a unanimous victory.
Worcester’s Zack Kelly finished second, while
Durham’s Colby White took third in the final tally.
