League totals are the totals from the selected year regardless of league talent. Modifiers are used to bring league talent totals to be close to the league totals.
Auto Cal does this by running a simulation of the current league 3 times and using the average to set the modifiers.
Wanting to increase ANY stat past current league totals means you are no longer using current league totals so why would you run Auto Cal again?

I can see why he'd think that. Instructions in the game says auto-calc is recommended. Advice on the board from knowledgeable people says strategy changes work with auto-calc. You're a minority among the experts saying it isn't true. I say believe the instructions in the game and advice from the other experts who are a majority.
