Medina Earns Midwest League Reliever of the Year Honors
At just 22 years old,
Beloit Sky Carp right-hander
Manuel Medina has been named the
2024 Midwest League Reliever of the Year, capping off a breakout season that firmly established him as one of the league’s most dominant bullpen arms.
Medina anchored the
Beloit bullpen with poise beyond his years, converting 30 saves in 45 relief appearances while striking out 50 batters in 46.2 innings. His impressive 1.93 ERA and 4–4 record highlighted both his reliability and his ability to thrive in high-leverage spots.
Voters took notice.
Medina earned 5 first-place votes and finished atop the ballot with 46 total points, edging out
Dayton Dragons flamethrower
Zach Maxwell, who actually received more first-place votes (6) but finished with 41 points.
Peoria’s Nathanael Heredia claimed third place.
