A few observations on where you could improve your roster:
- On the pitching side, Leskanic and Marichal are the weak links in your rotation from a skill standpoint and are definitely the first candidates for dropping if you find some upgrades. Marichal's HRA kills him in the upper levels, and Leskanic's very low control will give him issues. Fernandez may be getting a bit outdated, but that's a very unlucky start for him.
- Dazzy Vance might be a bit better as a bullpen arm for where you're at on the pyramid, but he'd probably be, in my opinion, the 3rd pitcher on the chopping block.
- Hitting-wise, I feel you could better utilize George Brett as a platoon player rather than a guy who plays both ways. I'd look into possibly saving up for someone like a Mike Schmidt (L10 28,870) or a BBRef 7 Alex Bregman (55,000 L10) to be that vL platoon bat.
- I'd also look into getting a bat for 2B to replace Marcus Giles so you could use Tony Phillips as a utility guy. A decent budget option could be Tubby Scales (28,448 L10) but Eli Willits or Joe Morgan could be decent options as well to save up for.
In general, I'd also look into playing some Perfect Draft tournaments to try to get some Clubhouse Stars. There's some good players in there that could help your team out as well once you collect a decent amount of them. Let me know if you need any advice on that, too!
