So take almost half a decade to find out you've made zero progress & have to start the whole process all over again.

So Minnesota's route potentially...........Start McCarthy. He never develops as you enter the 2029 draft. All you have to show for it are 6-11 seasons. Yo hope somehow you that 2029 has enough QB's that one falls in your lap or that 2028 sucked so bad you are picking first & there is at least one QB everyone agrees can be a bonafide starter. In between now & then, you've been trading assets & letting high priced FA's go because you aren't going to be kissing the salary cap limit for -.500 seasons. You are also probably getting a new coaching staff & even front office regime cause 6-11 isn't good for employee retention. Now you have to develop him, but also your roster because, again, you sucked for so long. And by the 2033-34 season rolls around you have come to the conclusion that guy you spent a 1st Rd pick on @ QB.......sucks.....And we start the process over........

.....or..........

......keep Darnold on that 3 year deal he got from Seattle...wait to get more info on McCarthy and keep your head above water. Spend the offseason finding players to offset your QB's flaws and hope a McCarthy does develop. Meanwhile, you can always hope a QB falls in your lap in the draft. From which, you now do the above. And you don't have to do a complete rebuild from scratch as he gains experience.
