It is the base of the game. Only way to change would be a total rewrite scrapping everything that OOTP has always been. Every version of OOTP, 6.5 and before, and the rewrite of 2007 are based on League Totals.
I suppose for what is being asked the best one could do would be to have all LTM's at 1.000 and get what they get? Not something I'd do and it of course would still require League Totals.

No one said to scrap League Totals. No one asked for a scrap of the engine. No one asked about individual player Adjust/Weakens either. The OP on that post just asked how to stop historical normalization for league stats after he introduces a different talent pool. The same way someone last week forgot to turn on auto-calc, added random all-time greats, and the league got wacky results. That customer wanted to know what step they missed. This is just the reverse of that query. The guy last week should turn auto-calc on and run it and the person on this thread should turn auto-calc off so whatever modifiers they are, be they 1's or default starting year ones, are left alone. Then as talent changes, the league drifts and you get results that come with no guardrails. Sure it could get wonky over time as talent gets radically different... but he wants wonky. It's not an unreasonable ask and it's a technically narrow answer on what to turn on/off.
