The ACC..........What a frikkin' mess. Five teams w/only one loss. And 2, SMU & dook, aren't even ranked.....UVa had their QB knocked out w/a concussion. Which explains their loss to a better than expected Wake Forest......Louisville lost @ home to Cal. For which there is no explanation except, "ACC".......Miami fans have got to be miffed. Two of the current favorites to reach the playoff, Notre Dame & USF, are W's in their resume. In fact, Miami might have a serious beef w/those of us that have written them off. If SMU & Louisville win out & remain the Canes only losses, why would the Irish get a look before Miami? It will be hard to find a 2 loss team with a more deserving resume.....

How it all sorts out, who could know? GT hosts Pitt the weekend before Thanx. Virginia visits dook next week. Louisville travels to SMU 2 weeks from now. Miami is @ home to NCSt this week & finishes @ Pitt after Thanx. Way too many variables. Not to mention the ACC's penchant to get beat by the beatable.......

.....I will say it makes my eyes roll when I look @ the way SEC losses are treated compared to the ACC. When the ACC beats each other up, it is taken as proof the league is soft. When the SEC beats each other up, it is taken as proof of the "gauntlet" their conference is. It's why I call the SEC the "Paris Hilton" of conferences. Famous for being famous...........

......I think people are exaggerating in calling that Indiana catch the best of the season. There have been plenty that were more difficult to me. But this was definitely the most exciting one this year. The scenario & the replay left me wide eyed for about an hour. Legendary. Omar Cooper will never need to pull his wallet in Bloomington again..........

........Dabo Swinney's rant about the fact it is playoff or bust for every program now did leave me thinking the playoff should be expanded. I've always been one who felt there should be no more than 12-16. But it does give me pause that 9-3, 10-2 records are going to go down as unsuccessful because they don't make a limited playoff. The potency of the bowl system has become so diluted, no one cares about them anymore. I rather watch the NHL Winter Classic than the myriad of New Year's Day bowl games now.

It's not that I think 3 loss teams deserve a shot @ the title. But I think there should be some reward for a good team. A feeling of accomplishment from their fan base. There are 136 FBS division teams. Just 7% get to play for a title. In basketball, baseball, men's soccer & hockey between 20-25% make their postseason. Slightly over 18% in women's soccer. If you make it 32 in football you are in the same percentage as other major collegiate team sports.........

........I always root for chaos. So how will it look in the T1e8n if Mich & USC win out? USC would be tied w/Ohio St & wins over fellow one loss teams Michigan & Oregon. Ohio St would have been #1 for virtually the entire year. But no wins over any ranked teams except Texas. & that is iffy because the Horns finish w/UGa & TxA&M. Would Ohio St fall out of contention for a playoff bye? Assuming Michigan won their other games, could 5 T1e8n teams make the playoff, knocking out an SEC rep & Notre Dame?...........

......This is why I say it is pointless to argue about the weekly CFP rankings. There are just too many things that can happen. There are a lot of assumption being made that won't come to fruition.......


.......If Ty Simpson wins the Heisman it will be the most underwhelming winner since Jason White maybe? (I had to look him up. Forgot he existed) I'm of the opinion they should give it to Ashton Jeanty. He deserves it more for last year's performance than anyone does for this year's play.........
