I greatly appreciate what the modders do. I find that in recent years they’ve taken on an “upon request” mindset. Most of the big projects like the historical, minors, and international are complete, so diminishing returns is taking hold. I’ve been running a save with 300 real clubs from the early 1900s and have barely had to ask for anything because it is all out there. And more ballparks from that era are still coming out.
I do agree the energy is down this year. OOTP’s rating on Steam is a tad lower, though I don’t think it screams emergency. Some of the base game enhancements didn’t land as well this year, IMO. The calls for back to basics, quality of life, and AI reform are getting louder. But it’s hard to market a new game that way. We’ll see what comes for OOTP 27, but I’m sure I’ll continue to enjoy…
