Here's a dark horse for the playoff.....Pittsburgh. The have only one loss in the ACC, Louisville. Two losses overall. And a great chance to move up. They host the Irish, travel to GT & finish @ home w/Miami. Three ranked teams. If they run thru those 3, they might not still make the ACC title game. But they would be a hot team that rises up the rankings quickly. And their case would be even better if Louisville ends up the ACC winner...........

........If BYU runs the table, they should make the playoff even if they lose in the 12ish title game. They would have wins vs the best of the conference in Tex Tech, Cincy & Houston.........

.......Longhorns aren't out of the playoff race yet. Wins vs Georgia next week, then A&M to end the year would put them in a good spot. As bad as the Florida loss looks, the committee will look @ a loss in Columbus and forget all about it...........

......Is the Mid-American the country's worst football conference?............

......Has anyone ever had an easier down-the-stretch schedule than the Hoosiers? Penn St, Wisconsin & Purdue. All winless in the T1e8n.........

......Just for giggles....what happens if Indy gets upset & Michigan beats Ohio St?.............

.........I don't get what happened to FSU. When they played Bama, they didn't just beat them. But they looked much better than them. In retrospect, you can say the Virginia & Pittsburgh games were tougher opponents than anyone recognized. But explain losing to Stanford? Then explain a 42-7 blowout over better than expected Wake? Again, I don't get it...........

........I also don't get why anyone would take a job @ any of the high profile programs currently searching for HC replacements. If you have gotten something going like Cignetti @ Bloomington, why would you go to a headache like Florida, LSU or Auburn? No matter the money offered, you aren't going to last past your 1st recruiting class. PennSt seems to have some patience. Possibly UCLA. But I would steer clear of the SEC. I mean the governor is inserting himself into the hiring process @ LSU. That is way too much pressure. It is bad enough that every fan w/a thick checkbook thinks they know football better than you. But now you are going to e=inject the fickle nature of politics into the equation? Miss me w/dat............
