Ohtani did good, I had my doubts he'd go long given that he hadn't pitched this much in years, came off an injury a month or two ago, has a notoriously excessive sleep schedule which I'm sure was disrupted after last night and knowing how he gets hurt, the leg cramp thing last game while not major was still a bit concerning factoring all this in, plus I figured after they won last night, today would be a day to rest the starters and not kill Ohtani by making him throw too much and potentially have him get hurt in the World Series when you'd want him most.
He really did do good all game except for the home run but now it's tied and they ended up using most of their starting guys again and Will Smith.... Well that's just crazy that he was playing today. Maybe they were trying to just go for a comfortable win tonight with their main guys in hopes to just not turn back and completely finish the Blue Jays off after? It seems more like a "just push through it" type of approach.
