MLB news: Sept. 22 -- Angels clinch at least wild-card berth
With a 4-3 win over the Las Vegas Athletics, the Los Angeles Angels have assured themselves at least a wild-card berth in the American League playoffs.
The Angels and Seattle Mariners are tied for the top spot in the AL West Division with 85-69 records with seven games left in the regular season.
The Mariners also clinched a postseason berth today.
This will be the second consecutive trip to the playoffs for the Angels and third in the past four seasons.
Los Angeles last reached the World Series in 2003, when they defeated the San Francisco Giants in seven games.
