I'm not a big fan of GoAT arguments because I think when it comes to most things the answer depends on context. It's like the LeBron/MJ thing, if you have one season or one series that you need to win right now I don't think there's any question you're taking MJ, but if you're drafting someone for long term success I don't see how you don't take LeBron. In F1 I generally have a really hard time choosing between Fangio, Brabham, Clark, Stewart, Lauda, Piquet, Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Vettel, and Hamilton because all of them could dominate their eras if given the opportunity.
If Max comes back to win the WDC this year I feel like the conversation is basically over. 5 consecutive titles would match Michael, but the difference is that Michael won 5 titles while Ferrari was winning 6. Hamilton won 7 titles in cars that won 8 titles. Max would have 5 titles in a car that won 2 titles. He's outscoring his teammates 306-25. Every time I think he's lost something he puts up results that make no sense whatsoever.
